A festival of lights. Deepavali is celebrated universally by Hindus and is observed as a public holiday in Malaysia. This festival falls between the month of October and November, the fourteenth day of the Tamil month of Aipasi. Hindus celebrate the day with prayers and festivities during the day. They also hold open houses where family and friends visit and enjoy delicious Indian meals.
